Recent Areas of Research: Immediate Implant Integration

Steiner Laboratories is a leader in the field of tissue engineering and we have recently focused on creating implant integration in bony defects around immediate implants. Most immediate implants heal with angular defects because the bone graft material does not alter the healing process. As a result, either epithelium or fibrous tissue prevents bone integration to the implant surface. Our research has focused on the factors needed to regenerate bone in the graft site around immediate implants. Proving implant integration in areas of grafted voids around immediate implants in humans is difficult. In order to prove that our bone graft materials indeed create implant integration in the grafted site, we floated an implant in graft material in a patient who had an implant fail. With no contact with the patient’s bone the implant was floated in Socket Graft. After 3 months, the implant had integrated and was restored. STEINER LABORATORIES has conducted extensive research on the cravings associated with addiction.  NEUROTONEN, a product designed to curb cravings, has been awarded one of the very few patents for the treatment of alcohol cravings.

STEINER LABORATORIES research publications have initiated world-wide interest in a group of compounds used for the prevention of cancer. The ingredients in PREVASE are now under study at major US and foreign Universities.
 
STEINER LABORATORIES has published studies that support fluoride as a nutritional requirement for normal human physiology. Without an adequate supply of fluoride, the body develops disease. ESSENTIAL F meets the RDA for daily fluoride intake.

 

Recent News

A university based controlled clinical study in humans confirms the effectiveness of the inverted periosteal graft developed by Steiner Laboratories. In 2007 Steiner Laboratories published the inverted periosteal graft for regeneration of periodontal ligament and bone lost as a result of periodontal disease. At 9 months the IPG group showed significant improvement in probing depth reduction (3.8mm) and clinical gain of attachment (3.2 mm). The findings were statically significant over controls.
